We Found Our Painted Dopplegangers With Google's Art-Selfie App

 

It seems like everyone on our social feeds has posted their portrait-matched selfies this week, and we wanted in on the fun too! You may have heard of the viral Google Arts & Culture app that uses facial recognition software to match you with a portrait hanging in a museum, and you also may have heard that the app actually does not work in the state of Texas due to laws surrounding the use of such tools. But we found a sneaky way to get around it! If you want to find your art doppleganger simply download a VPN app first (we used an app called ExpressVPN for example) which will essentially trick your phone into thinking you're in a different location. We set our location to New York City, and then re-downloaded the Google Arts & Culture app, and voila! We passed our phone around the office and here's the results:
