Mosser Morning Recap - Monday July 25
Our condolences to the family, friends and colleagues of Travis County sheriff's deputy Sgt. Craig Hutchinson, who died as the result of a shooting at his home early this morning. The early reports say that this was a residential burglary/robbery situation, and it does not appear at present that Sgt. Hutchinson was targeted for his being a police officer. Developments HERE.
All The Single Ladies - over half of the KGSR family are single people, half of them single ladies, who are the target of a new article we found that encourages our young female singles to stay that way until after they're 30. A similarly-themed article goes over the most common misconception about marriage, and one in Salon examines why it's hard for adults to make friends. Austin's a great place to be single, though I did learn today about "Peter Pan Syndrome" - for every eligible gal in Austin, it would appear there's an immature guy or two.
Sweet Spirit - written up by the Memphis Flyer! It's good to get outside perspectives on the things you love - when other's love 'em too, it's easy to love 'em even more! Sweet Spirit plays our last Blues On The Green show of the year on Wednesday August 3.
Earth Proxima - the subject of our Pop Quiz today - is the theoretical closest inhabitable planet to Earth. Cool video at the link!
Austin Ride Sharing Experiment - conducted by staff of the Austin American-Statesman illustrates, if nothing else, that we've got plenty of options here in town in the post-Prop 1 world!
Oskar Blues Mural. Great to meet Dan, Ana and Jack of the Oskar Blues family here at the station yesterday during the Fitz and the Tantrums KGSR Lounge gathering - the new tasting room is coming along nicely, as evidenced in the video below - can't wait to try it out!
