Akins High School Fine Arts Program Launches Fundraiser Campaign for LA Trip

The students of Akins High School's Fine Arts program have just received a very special opportunity for an educational trip to Los Angeles, and they need your help to bring it to fruition. The class, led by directors Paul Crockett and Catherine Ballard, is hoping to make the trek to LA where they will perform at the University of Southern California for some of the world's most renound classical music educators. This is a much deserved chance for the students, many of whom are faced with socio-economic disadvantages, to learn from some of the best in their field, and for many it will be their first time to leave the state of Texas.

All students planning to take the trip have been working to raise money by selling candy and popcorn to friends and family but still need additional assistance to reach their $20,000 goal, which will ensure that all students with passing grades will be able to attend.

Visit the program's GoFundMe page to learn more about the class and to make a donation!
