It’s no surprise that Maggie Rogers has had a busy year after the release of her debut album Heard It In A Past Life, and yet she’s still out here giving us a new bop that will be in your head all day long.
The Best New Artist Grammy nominee released a brand new song called “Love You For A Long Time,” and it’s filled with “love in all its forms.” Take a listen below.

The singer-songwriter almost finalized “Love You For A Long Time” the day before she wrote her hit “Light On.” In a press release sent out to fans, Rogers expressed that those last few days of completing her first album “were such vivid and vital creative moments for [her].” The song remained unfinished and wasn’t even recorded. But the melody stayed with her for the “last year and a half.”
Rogers faced many life changes after that. With her music career soaring and endless nights on the road, a long tour meant finding that piece of home with those around her. Sharing the stage with her band for almost three years now, Rogers’ bandmates soon became her “real adopted family.” The artist wanted to create something new for them to perform together, and that’s where “Love You For A Long Time” came into the picture.
“It’s a song about love in all its forms – romantic love, the love I feel for my friends, the love I feel for my band, and the love I’ve shared with all of you. I wanted it to sound like the last days of summer. I wanted it to sound as wild and alive as new love feels,” said Rogers.
