Friday, October 26th

 

Date Night
5:00 PM | Crux Climbing Center

From indoor rock climbing to hot yoga, creative ways to get active are always taking place around Austin. Crux Climbing Center is an indoor climbing gym that offers rope climbing courses, yoga classes, and much more. This Friday they are hosting a date night special: For $20, two guests receive gear and entry to the climbing and bouldering courses. Grab a friend or partner and spend your Friday night learning some new tricks.

 

Quiet Halloween Party
10:00 PM | The Belmont

Decked out in colorful costumes and a pair of headsets, guests of the Belmont will be dancing their way through the Halloween weekend. With three DJ’s playing three different genres from current dance hits to 80’s throwbacks, you can switch music to fit the mood you feel in that moment. Happy Happleween Party  
2:00 PM – 4:00 PM | Austin Eastciders Collaboratory

A day of festivities including apple bobbing, costume contests, and all-ages apple games is being hosted at the Austin Eastciders Collaboratory. Open to the public for free, this family friendly party is centered around apples… And everyone loves a good taste of apple cider!

 

Courtney Barnett
7:00 PM | Stubb’s Amphitheater

Courtney Barnett is a spunky Australian-native known for her witty songs and distinctive garage band sound. Releasing her latest album Tell Me How You Really Feel in May 2018, Barnett is touring around the US before heading overseas to Europe, ending in Australia. Although Barnett’s Stubb’s show is sold out, try asking around for spare tickets! Trust us, it will be worth it.

 

St. Lucia with Arkells Concert  
8:00 PM | Historic Scoot Inn

With a new album Hyperion released earlier this fall, St. Lucia is making their way around the states to perform fan-favorite tunes, as well as some new ones. Supported by the band, Arkells, the pair is expected to bring a mix of funky, rock beats to the night. Tickets to the concert are still available, starting at $30.

Jo’s Ugly Dog Contest
12:00 PM – 3:00 PM | Jo’s Coffee 2nd Street

Jo’s Coffee is known for two things: Their iced turbo coffee and the “I Love You So Much” graffiti wall. This Sunday, they are celebrating these values with caffeine and dog lovers. Getting into the Halloween spirit, come out to Jo’s Coffee on 2nd street with your pup and costume in hand. Competitions being hosted include Ugliest Dog, Doppelganger, and Best Dressed contests… By the way, the winner for each category wins free coffee for a year!

 

Ella’s Haunted Mansion  
10:00 AM – 3:00 PM | Hotel Ella

Constructed in 1900, Hotel Ella is a boutique styled hotel built in 1900. And what better way to see a vintage landmark on Halloween weekend than to go on a haunted mansion themed tour? All day Sunday, Hotel Ella is hosting spooky tours, live music, and games in the hotel courtyard for everyone to enjoy.

 

The Shining
9:15 PM | Alamo Drafthouse at The Ritz

The 1980 horror film, The Shining, is a classic favorite, no matter the season. But in honor of Halloween just around the corner, Alamo Drafthouse is hosting a showing of festive film. While the movie itself will reminisce on the 80’s, The Ritz is a historical Austin spot that is sure to add to the spooky experience.
