Bishop Briggs Releases New Album ‘Champion’

Bishop Briggs

Bishop Briggs is more honest than ever in her sophomore album Champion. And we’re totally here for it.

With, once again, powerful vocals and empowering lyrics, the artist gives us a refreshing reminder that vulnerability isn’t an indication of weakness, rather the complete opposite. Being unguarded with yourself, and literally the entire world, proves the vocalist isn’t letting anyone get in her way of being exactly who she wants to be.

“I tried to have moments of expressing some sort of triumph. I mean, there is something that is totally phoenix-rising-from-the-ashes about breakups that I think is important to lean into, especially when you’re feeling so sad,” said the artist in an interview with WWD. The LA-based artist confronts heartbreak by being unconditionally candor. Briggs admits she made a pact with her ex-boyfriend when they started dating: they could write about each other. With that, she sent him her songs. “He said it’s the best music I’d ever written. It felt so important for me to not protect him, not protect myself, and just tell the truth,” said Briggs.

Champion features 10 tracks, including her singles “Champion,” “Tattooed on My Heart,” “Jekyll & Hide,” and “Someone Else.” Give the album a listen if you’re going through something similar, because this is your remedy for a broken heart.
