Austin Musicians to Get Free Rides to Gigs with New Lyft Program

Local rockers, rejoice! Just before the end of the year, ride share company Lyft announced their plans to launch a program in Austin that would provide free transport for musicians to get to their gigs without the hassle of renting a van, trying to find parking downtown, getting parking tickets, etc. There is a slight catch of course: in order to take advantage of the free ride program you must be playing a gig at one of their selected partnered venues, which so far includes Stubb's, Antone's, and Empire Control Room.

No info yet on exactly when the program will go into effect, or how musicians can get in on the free ride program, but the company has stated it plans to launch the program during Free Week.
