Torchy’s Tacos Presents E.T. the Extraterrestial
6:30 – 11 PM | Mueller Lake Park

Grab your friends, grab some tacos, and grab a seat on the lawn for Torchy’s outdoor movie party showing the 1982 classic, E.T.! The screening is free and open to the pubilc and will begin when the sky goes dark, around 8 PM. Get there early for the pre-show and “Torchy’s Tacos surprises”!
 

ATX Food Truck Festivals
6 – 10:30 PM | Barton Creek Square

Sample the creations of some of Austin’s best food trucks this Friday night at the ATX Food Truck Festival, taking place at Barton Creek Square! General admission is $7 per person (free for children 12 and under), and gets you access to the car showcase, fire and dance performances, exotic animal petting zoo, and more! Kyle Pie in the Sky Hot Air Balloon Festival
6:30 AM – 10:30 PM | Lake Kyle

Texas hill country’s premiere hot air balloon festival is taking place this weekend, Friday through Sunday, at Lake Kyle! The event hosts food and drinks, vendors, live music, pie baking and eating contests, and of course, sunrise and evening ascensions, and tethered hot air balloon rides. Get your tickets online in advance to save money! The District Cultural Arts Fest
2 – 10 PM | Six Square

Celebrate the rich cultural legacy of Austin’s black community at this year’s District Cultural Arts Fest! The celebration/tour will happen across six venues that will host African drumming and dancing, afro-pop/jazz performances, theatrical performances and more, with closing festivities in the evening at the historic Huston-Tillotson University. Art Will Save Us
9 PM – 2 AM | Cherry Cola Dog

Support local art and even showcase some of your own at this month’s open call art show hosted by Cherry Cola Dog! The show/party is BYOB and will run until 2 AM with live painting sessions, live DJs, and performances! Anyone can submit their own work to be displayed at the show: share a photo of your favorite piece on the Facebook event page to be considered.

Labor Day Weekend Waves

ATX Goat Yoga at Fair Market
10 AM – 4 PM | Fair Market

The latest trend in yoga is descending upon the Fair Market this Sunday! Baby goats! There will be three 30-45 minute yoga sessions graced with the presence of adorable baby goats from 10 AM until 4 PM, and based on the insanely cute photos we’ve seen, if you haven’t tried goat yoga already you’re not going to want to miss out. Bringing your own yoga mat is recommended, but mats will be available to rent for $5 if needed.
