It’s finally the weekend! Whether you like to kick back by the lake, enjoy an awesome brunch before a local shopping spree, or head to your favorite local venue for a live gig, we do our best to hand pick events that we think will fit your lifestyle.

 

Friday, July 13th  

 

 

Unknown Mortal Orchestra  
8 PM | Stubb’s   

Your favorite Kiwi psych-rockers are visiting Austin for a live show down at Stubb’s this weekend with special guest Shamir, open to all ages. As always, the bar will be open to 21+ guests. Harlem Globetrotters  
7 PM | H-E-B Center at Cedar Park  
Spend your Friday night watching slam dunks, crazy free throws and other exciting stunts as you sit in on a wild night of entertainment put on by the one and only Harlem Globetrotters! This iconic American show has been touring the world for nearly a century, and is trotting into Austin for one night only! Fans with a Magic Pass can also take part in a pre-game experience with the Globetrotters and shoot hoops, learn tricks and pose for pictures. Tickets start at just $25, get yours here.

 

Outdoor Movie: Friday the 13th   
11:45 PM | Blue Starlite Drive-In  
 
Forget the free tattoos and come celebrate this creepy holiday the right way with a late-night, outdoor screening of Friday the 13th at the Drive-In, BYOB for 21+ movie-goers! Stick around afterward for an extra-scary movie bonus with Drive-In Massacre (perfect, right?). Cozy up with some blankets, snacks and get ready for some frightening fun. Grab your tickets here.

 

Saturday, July 14th  

 

 

SoCo Farmer’s Market 
11 AM | S Congress & Monroe

Spend your Saturday morning with the whole family at this outdoor farmers and makers market, plus live music, yoga and plenty of food and drink. Even your fur babies are welcome! Nothing says a weekend in Austin like some good music, good food and beautiful local art on the famous South Congress Avenue.

 

Bastille Day Cheese Tasting 
2 PM | Antonelli’s Cheese House     

Happy Bastille Day! Celebrate French cuisine at its best with this guided cheese tasting, plus an accompanying spread of olives, nuts and Easy Tiger bread. Wine and beer will be available for purchase, as well as every cheese included in the tasting. You can find tickets here. Vive la Cheese!

 

Amazon Treasure Truck Presents: Wes Anderson’s Isle of Dogs 
6 PM | Republic Square Park   
  
The Amazon Treasure Truck is stopping on its national tour for a special, FREE screening of Isle of Dogs at Republic Square Park this Saturday night. There will be snacks, games, giveaways and more fun provided by the Treasure Truck, on a first-come, first-served basis, no tickets necessary! Don’t miss catching this star-studded Wes Anderson drama right in the heart of downtown Austin. More info here.

 

SCH 2nd Annual Ice Cream Showdown
6:30 PM | South Congress Hotel     

Show National Ice Cream Day some love with the 2nd annual Ice Cream Showdown at the beautiful South Congress Hotel, as you watch Austin’s best pastry chefs go “scoop to scoop in a freezingly fierce competition” while enjoying $3 scoops, a live DJ and a full bar. After you cast your vote, stick around to catch an outdoor screening of the 1995 cult classic “Clueless” in the SCH courtyard.  Ice cream and Clueless? What more could you possibly need?

Comedy Brunch: Tacos, Mimosas & Laughs

Ah, we love a triple threat. Fight off your hangover with some tacos, stand-up and bubbly mimosas this Sunday at Fallout Theater. Torchy’s will be providing the tacos and Voodoo Donuts will be on site serving up of pastries. Tickets are just $20! Grab yours here.

 

World Cup Finals Watch Party  
9 AM | Z Tejas Arboretum  

The 2018 World Cup is finally coming to a close! Whether you’re Team France, Team Croatia, or Team cocktails, score a GOOOAAAL at Z Tejas in the Arboretum with $5 ‘Ritas and build-your-own mimosas and bloody marys for their Finals watch party. Free Parisian-Style Chocolate Tasting 
12 PM | Delysia Chocolatier Culinary Center  

Too wrapped up in your National Ice Cream Day brain freeze to join in on the Bastille Day celebrations yesterday? Don’t sweat it! Delysia Chocolatier is hosting a FREE, Paris-themed chocolate tasting. Enjoy flavors like Strawberry Brut, Raspberry Hibiscus, Champagne and more. Just come on in, no tickets or reservations necessary!

 

Deep Eddy Drag Queen Bingo Bus  
1 PM | Deep Eddy Vodka Distillery  

If the title hasn’t sold you already, we’ve got the low-down on this super fun event going down this weekend. A bingo bus ride with entertainment from one of Austin’s favorite Drag Queens, Colleen DeForrest, and prizes for winners, will be taking off on a round trip from downtown to the Deep Eddy distillery in Dripping Springs, where guests can enjoy lawn games and BYOB beverages on the lawn, plus a Deep Eddy complimentary cocktail of your choice served in a souvenir mason jar.
