More Austin Round Rock area School Districts shut down

Austin ISD has canceled class from March 23rd through April 3rd.

Round Rock ISD official statement:

“Round Rock ISD is closely monitoring reports and information shared by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) about the Coronavirus (COVID-19). We are in daily contact with health officials from both Williamson and Travis counties and are following the guidance provided by the Texas Education Agency, Texas Health and Human Services and the CDC. At this time, Round Rock ISD has suspended normal school operations through at least April 3, 2020. During this time, all Round Rock ISD facilities will be closed for instruction and other purposes, including UIL events, athletics, rentals, field trips, after-school programs and other campus activities.”

Hays CISD Official statement:

“Hays CISD schools and offices will suspend normal operations through Sunday, April 5, 2020, at which time we will determine our next steps. This means all in-person classes and activities are canceled through that date. The district believes this action is necessary to help the community slow the spread of coronavirus. We want to stress the importance of social/physical distancing and preventative measures such as hand washing during this time. ”

San Marcos CISD Official statement:

“San Marcos CISD is suspending normal school operations through April 5th.”

Dripping Springs ISD Official Statement:

“Dripping Springs ISD has announced a decision to suspend normal school operations by closing DSISD schools from Monday, March 23, to Friday, April 3. During this two-week period, all Dripping Springs ISD facilities will be closed for instruction and all other functions, including UIL events, athletics, rentals, field trips, after-school programs and other campus activities. This closure will provide the district with time to assess the situation, respond to ongoing developments, and evaluate the approach for the coming weeks. Families will be provided with additional information this week regarding plans to provide instructional support and resources to students remotely and provide meals for eligible students.

Tonight at 6:30 p.m., the DSISD Board of Trustees will hold an emergency meeting to take action to help the district continue operations during the closure, including a resolution that will be considered for adoption.”

Eanes ISD Official Statement:

“To slow the spread of the virus and safeguard the well-being of students and staff, Eanes ISD will suspend normal operations Monday, March 23 through Sunday, April 5, announced Superintendent Dr. Tom Leonard today. Students and staff should not return to campuses until they are notified.

During this two-week period, all Eanes ISD facilities will be closed for instruction and all other functions until further notice, including UIL events, athletics, rentals, field trips, after-school programs, childcare and other campus activities.”

Georgetown ISD Official Statement:

“In an effort to limit the spread of coronavirus/COVID-19, Georgetown ISD has announced it will suspend normal operations for two weeks following spring break. Effectively, this will close campus operations through April 3. We will have more detailed information available soon regarding next steps for learning and business continuity.”
