It’s finally the weekend! Whether you like to kick back by the lake, enjoy an awesome brunch before a local shopping spree, or head to your favorite local venue for a live gig, we do our best to hand pick events that we think will fit your lifestyle.

 

Friday, July 27th  

 

 

Adult Night at Mt. Playmore 
10 PM | Mt. Playmore   

Ever wish running around a playground like a madman was socially acceptable for adults and didn’t involve terrifying tiny humans? Now it is! Mt. Playmore is hosting their annual Adult Night this Friday at their “monster-sized playscape” that will feature a DJ, unlimited plays on arcade games, delicious food and all the BYOB your heart desires until 2am! Don’t even think about missing this event that only comes once a year and is sure to be a blast. Tickets are only $20 with discount code 718D5, or $26 at the door.

 

Israel Nash with Feverbones and Curtis Roush
7:30 PM | Historic Scoot Inn   

Indie rocker and ACL veteran Israel Nash is performing Friday night at the Historic Scoot Inn, immediately following the release of his long-awaited new album “Lifted.” Nash absolutely killed his performance in the KGSR Dell Music Lounge on Thursday, so we’re positive his show at Scoot Inn will be another can’t-miss. Nash is joined by special guests Feverbones, as well as Curtis Roush. Grab your tickets here.  

 

Free Outdoor Movie: The Greatest Showman    
8 PM | Mobile Loaves & Fishes Community First! Village  

Catch Hugh Jackman, Zac Efron, Michelle Williams and Zendaya in the 2017 critically-acclaimed musical, “The Greatest Showman,” about nineteenth-century Circus performers, this weekend at MLF’s Community First! Village. This event is free, but $5 donations are appreciated. Burgers, fries, snacks and drinks will be available for purchase. Dogs are welcome, but must remained leashed, and patrons are encouraged to bring flashlights, bug spray and closed-toe shoes. Check out the link above for more info!

National Geographic: Symphony for Our World
8 PM | Long Center

Nat Geo is coming to Austin this Saturday for a one-night-only, immersive experience of music and nature, perfect for the entire family. Guests will hear live compositions from the Austin Symphony alongside footage of some of the world’s most spectacular places – from the “depths of the sea, up to the coastlines, onto land, through mountains and finally into the sky.” Don’t miss this special journey through nature from the people who know it best. Doga: Yoga with Your Dog   
8 AM | Zilker Park  

Spend your Saturday morning getting Zen at Zilker with your furry friend! Team Dog ATX is hosting an early-morning yoga flow, led by yogi guru Kellie Lee, that’s BYO mat, water, and pupper! *insert downward-facing-dog joke* All levels are welcome, and dogs must remain leashed during the class. Dogs on Tap with Austin Pets Alive!
12 PM | Glass Half Full Austin 

Join local animal shelter Austin Pets Alive! and Glass Half Full at Lakeline Alamo Drafthouse for an afternoon of cute pups, specialty drinks, prizes and charity! Adoption-ready doggos will be on the cooled patio ready to meet you, and for every drink you purchase, $1 will go straight to APA! Feel free to bring your own (leashed) pups along for the party, as well. See ya there!

 

Closing Night with Bob Schneider  
9 PM | Antone’s  

It’s been a fun summer of Antone’s 43rd Anniversary festivities, with awesome acts rocking the famous venue every Saturday night. But all good things must come to an end, and sometimes the end comes with Bob Schneider! Don’t miss the king of Austin live music close the show at Antone’s this weekend. 60th Annual Zilker Summer Musical: All Shook Up
8:15 PM | Zilker Hillside Theater  

Zilker Summer Musicals have been a longstanding tradition in Austin for decades and are a part of what makes the city so special, so don’t miss out on the fun and come celebrate Zilker Theatre’s 60th Anniversary at this weekend’s showing of the 50’s Elvis-inspired production, All Shook Up! 8th Annual Splash Mob
2:30 PM | 6th & Trinity   

Y’all… it’s HOT outside. If you’re going out there this weekend, you’ll need some water to keep you cool. Why not make it fun?! Join thousands of fellow Austinites this Sunday at the 8th Annual Splash Mob on East 6th street for some outdoor water-warfare! Bring your best water guns, water balloons, water cannons and whatever other water artillery you’ve got! A courteous manner of squirting is required, goggles are strongly encouraged. Austin Symphony’s Concerts in the Park: Big Band
7:30 PM | Long Center Lawn  
 

Wrap up your weekend with a FREE, hour-long live performance from the Austin Symphony at one of Austin’s favorite outdoor venues, the Long Center Lawn!
