Alpha Rev “Lonely Man” [LIVE SXSW 2013]

Austin-based group Alpha Rev joined ACL Radio back in 2013 at the Live Morning Broadcast during SXSW. The band treated fans to a live rendition of their song “Lonely Man,” featured in their 2013 album Bloom.

Alpha Rev released a new album this year called Open. The full-length album is comprised of 11 tracks. Back in June, the band released a visual piece for their song “Born of the Stars.” Check it out below.

Boy & Bear “Southern Sun” [LIVE SXSW 2014]

Austin City Limits Radio had the opportunity to hang out with Boy & Bear back in 2014. The band performed in front of a live audience at our morning broadcast during SXSW.
Last year, the Australian band released their fourth studio album Suck on Light. With the coronavirus pandemic, the indie-rock band were one of many artists who had to make the decision of canceling shows. The group took to social media to announce that the “majority” of their 2020 Australian shows were affected. “Covid-19 and the surrounding uncertainty and restrictions have created significant challenges in relation to our ability to deliver the tour we intended for 2020, even with indications of a return to large gatherings seeming more possible,” said Boy & Bear. The band continued to say that they were keeping their Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth shows on their tour schedule. “We are confident that we can deliver those shows at a level that you deserve.”
Boy & Bear have released a few acoustic recordings from their latest album. Stream the three tracks here.

The Wild Now “Weekend” [LIVE ACL 2017]

Look back at when The Wild Now joined ACL Radio backstage at ACL Fest in 2017.

Cloves “Everybody’s Son” [LIVE SXSW 2016]

Cloves performed “Everybody’s Son” from her 2015 EP XIII.

Cloves released her debut album in 2018 titled One Big Nothing and in 2019 she dropped a single called “Blowin’ in the Wind.”

The Australian artist announced in July that her sophomore album is officially done and is currently working on the visuals for the project. You can listen to One Big Nothing below.

Lewis Capaldi [Full LIVE Performance + Interview 2019]

Lewis Capaldi stopped by the Austin City Limits Radio studio last year for an on air performance and interview. Keeping our listeners entertained with his compelling and rugged vocals, Capaldi also knew how to crack a joke or two on air.

The Scottish singer-songwriter revealed that he’s completed writing his sophomore album. “I have 11 new songs for the new album now. Hopefully it will be out at some point next year.” Capaldi dropped his first album,  Divinely Uninspired To A Hellish Extent, in 2019 and then released a live EP called To Tell The Truth I Can’t Believe We Got This Far this year. The new EP features six live tracks from studio sessions, BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge, and The BRIT Awards.

Capaldi is a Best New Artist nominee for the MTV Video Music Awards. Voting is now open.
