Old Crow Medicine Show performs “Flicker & Shine” during the Live Morning Broadcast at the W Austin during SXSW 2018.

 

Old Crow Medicine Show formed in 1998 playing on New York state street corners and have since seen critical and commercial success. Not only were they inducted into the Grand Ole Opry in 2013, Old Crow Medicine also won the “Best Folk Album” Grammy for their 2014 release Remedy. Additionally, they received their second Grammy for “Best Long Form Music Video” in 2013 for “Big Easy Express.”

Their newest single “Quarantined” that debuted on their weekly live stream show called Hartland Hootenanny can be heard below:

 

Mondo Cozmo performed “Shine” live at the Morning Broadcast during ACL Fest in 2017 at Threadgill’s

 

Josh Ostrander aka Mondo Cozmo is from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and has been involved in the music scene since 2000. Since then, Ostrander was in various musical projects but in 2017, his single “Shine” reached the #1 Billboard Adult Alternative Songs chart. This success led to the release of his debut album Plastic Soul.

Mondo Cozmo’s latest single “Upside Down” features big booming drums over distorted guitars and samples. “Upside Down” dropped in April and is available now:

 

Lukas Graham performing “7 Years” live at the Live Morning Broadcast during SXSW

 

Lukas Graham is a three part Danish band named after lead singer Lukas Forchhammer. Lukas and his bandmates Mark Falgren and Magnus Larsson started in 2011 in Denmark and just two year later they won the European Border Breakers Award in 2013. In 2016, their release of “7 Years” won them various awards and accolades. The smash hit garnered 3 Grammy nominations and several network TV performances. 

Lukas Graham has been relatively quiet on social media besides posting in solidarity with the Black Lives Matter movement to raise up black voices and artists.

Their latest release “Love Songs” released early last month is out now:

 

Quiet Company perform “You, Me, and the Boatman” backstage at the Austin City Limits Festival in 2012.

 

Quiet Company is made up of members Taylor Muse, Tommy Blank, Trevor Dowdy, Jeff Stringer and Bill Gryta. The Austin rock band released their first project Shine Honestly in 2016 and have won Rock Band of the Year during SXSW 2016 as well as 11 other Austin music awards over the years.

Big Data performing “Dangerous” live at the Live Morning Broadcast during SXSW

 

Alan Wilkis is the mind behind the American electronic music project Big Data. They released their first EP 1.0 in 2013 but made waves with their single “Dangerous.” In 2014, “Dangerous” reached #1 on the US Alternative Billboard charts and #2 on the Rock Airplay Billboard charts. 

Their latest album BIG DATA 3.0 is available everywhere now.
