Gorillaz have added a new episode to their Song Machine series. Episode 7 features Elton John and 6LACK.
The track is titled “The Pink Phantom.” Just last month the group teamed up with The Cures’ Robert Smith for episode 6. Gorillaz have collaborated with multiple artists in their latest releases, including London rapper Octavian for the track “Friday 13th,” and Joy Division and Peter Hook from New Order for Gorillaz’s song
“Aries.”
In a statement about the latest installment, Elton John said, “I’ve always been a Gorillaz fan so when Damon [Albarn] reached out and asked me to get involved it was a no-brainer. I’m so very, very happy that that’s come about.”
