CBS’ “Sunday Morning” Takes a Closer Look at Brandon Flowers and The Killers

The Killers

Yesterday’s episode of the CBS weekly program “Sunday Morning,” featured an in-depth interview with legendary indie pop group The Killers, and a look inside front man Brandon Flowers’ surprising personal life. Flowers and the band talk 2004 breakout hit “Mr. Brightside,” their Las Vegas roots and Flowers’ Mormon faith, which he claims saved him from becoming a “casualty of rock n’ roll.” When asked about hanging out with the likes of Paul McCartney, Bono and Elton John, Flowers admitted it took him “years and years to put those boots on,” and establish his identity as a performer, who had been told from the start that he didn’t have the voice or sex appeal to make it as a lead singer. The interview also takes us into Flowers’ family home and the coffee shop off the strip where the band first performed a ten-minute set that “felt like an eternity.”
