In case you didn’t know, Monday, June 4th, isn’t just the start of a new week, it’s also the birthday of Austin’s own Shakey Graves! As a way of celebrating, we put together three quick facts that you may not know – or have forgotten – about the artist.
1. Surprise! His real name isn’t Shakey Graves.
This “fact” is a little bit more obvious than the rest but it’s one you may not know. The “Kids” artist was actually born Alejandro Rose-Garcia.
2. Shakey has made quite the late night show run in his career.
After signing with Dualtone records, Graves performed on “Conan,” “Late Show with David Letterman” and “Late Night with Seth Meyers.”
3.He’s an award winner!
Although his sound has changed a bit on his fifth record titled “Can’t Wake Up,”, back in 2015, Graves performed on ACL Live and received the Best Emerging Artist award at the Americana Music Awards.
