We’re back at Zilker Park next Wednesday for yet another Blues on the Green. Our second line-up is a can’t-miss – starring fan favorite Bob Schneider with beachy Afro-Caribbean funk group Superfónicos opening the show. Our friends at Dell Technologies want to help you get a little bit closer to the artists before the show. Catch a sneak peek of what to expect from their live performances on June 13th below:

Bob Schneider

How do you know when you’ve achieved full “Austinite” status? Is it when you take your dog to Zilker Park for the first time? See a live show while eating at a food truck? Maybe when you get stuck in your first Mopac traffic jam? Some would say the official Austin right-of-passage is seeing your first Bob Schneider show.

Folk rock musician and Austin local legend Bob Schneider has accumulated somewhat of a cult following during his time in Austin – he’s previously performed at Blues on the Green, Unplugged at the Grove, ACL Live at the Moody Theatre and countless other classic Austin spots over the last couple of decades. Schneider is something of a favorite pastime for Austin residents, and you can tell by his crowds, who sing along to every song wholeheartedly.

During his time as a solo artist, Schneider has released over fifteen albums – ranging in genres from folk to rock and indie to pop.

Perhaps what’s made Schneider such a sensation in Austin is his embodiment of the city’s own distinct characteristics – his music is a melting pot of styles and can’t be put into a box. He’s laid-back, but talented. Poetic, but minimalistic. Easy to listen to, and also thought-provoking. These paradoxical traits combine to create a truly unique style of music – one that Austin residents who value the city’s eclectic individuality can relate to on a deep level, or not. Whether you’re at his show to feel something, or just to hear some great live music, you will not leave empty-handed.

Superfónicos

Austin-based Columbian Funk band Superfónicos takes you to another, sunnier, more stress-free world with their tropical and energetic sound rooted in Afro-Colombian and Caribbean influences – you’ll catch a tan just listening to them play. Formed in 2014 by bassist Nico Sanchez and guitarist Erick Bohorquez, the group built its foundation on the inspirations of its multi-cultural backgrounds and gained momentum as other members Andres Villegas, Daniel Sanchez and Colombian-born Jaime Ospina later joined. Their music has since evolved into something refreshing, colorful and 70’s-level groovy. We’ll be showing up to Blues on the Green next week fully prepared to dance in the grass as the sun goes down while Superfónicos opens the show.
