Matthew McConaughey and his wife Camila McConaughey are working to help Texans affected by last week’s winter storm.

As a born and raised Texan, the actor and producer couldn’t sit idly by while his state is hurting. That’s why he and his wife are stepping up to offer relief for victims of the winter storm.

McConaughey took to Instagram to express his concern. “As most of you know, my home state of Texas was just hit with the worst winter storm it’s had in almost 70 years. It left a whole lot of people without power, without water, and without a whole lot of basic necessities.”

He and his wife are working closely with their Just Keep Livin Foundation to put tighter a benefit to raise money for winter storm victims. The nonprofit was founded by the couple, and “is dedicated to empowering high school students by providing them with the tools to lead active lives and make healthy choices for a better future.”

Keep an eye on McConaughey’s Instagram page for updates about the benefit. He said to expect an announcement soon, as the benefit will be held in the next couple of weeks.
